We are heading into Week 8 with positive vibes only, therefore my picks below are all winners…..
Yorktown @ Langley
A great matchup in the Liberty District between the Yorktown Patriots (5-2) and the Langley Saxons (6-1). Watching both teams’ film this looks like an even game with two heavyweights set to collide. The Saxons seemed to take a minute to get going in their game against Wakefield a week ago, while Yorktown has been humming these past two weeks. Two very well-run offenses are set to face off, this game should come down to the final minute.
Gainesville @ Battlefield
Patriot was just too much for Gainesville last week as the Pioneers pulled away in the second half to hand the Cardinals their first loss of the season. How does Coach Bruton squad follow that heartbreaker as the Bobcats do not care and have been on a mission since week 1. Battlefield will have to be prepared from the opening snap though, this will be their toughest opponent of the season thus far.
Score Prediction: Battlefield 38 Gainesville 21
South Lakes @ Oakton
If the Oakton Cougars are serious about finally reaching the postseason in over a decade, they need to take care of business tonight. Coming off two setbacks the Seahawks are hurting but not out of it and a win in Vienna later this evening will go a long way.
Score Prediction Oakton 22 South Lakes 14
Lake Braddock @ Alexandra City
I am curious in this game because it appears Alexandra City has a star back on their hands in D’Angelo Duarte while the Lake Braddock’s defensive line is loaded! It should be fun to watch how Trent Pane and Xavier Main (Pane and Main as they liked to be referenced) handle Duarte who has been tearing up the Patriot District. Another thing to monitor is the health of Bruins top ranked quarterback Tyrone Jackson, is he going to be cleared soon?
Score Prediction Lake Braddock 38 Alexandra City 20
