Heading into Week 2 we have a ton of intriguing matchups. There are already several squads with playoff aspirations that quite possibly could be 0-2 before conference play begins. Last week I went 2-2 on my picks so will just call it a win because why not. Here is a look at a few of the fun games lined up for tomorrow night.
Patriot @ Colonial Forge
It has only been 1 week, but Colonial Forge looks like the best team in the region. They have a high-powered offense and a incredibly stout defense. They made easy work of South County last week and now welcome a Patriot team that must be smarting after their heartbreaking defeat to Westfield. The Pioneers will sure be looking to start out fast and fearless in this contest, falling to 0-2 would not be ideal for Coach Finnerty’s squad. I will be on site for this tilt, and I expect an old school type of game. Freddys Forecast Colonial Forge 28 Patriot 20
Madison @ Lake Braddock
I thought Madison would have problems early on the season offensively and it showed last week. Unable to crack the endzone in their loss to Stone Bridge the Warhawks come to Burke, looking to extend their winning streak to four over the Bruins. Lake Braddock will look to get top back Payton Holmes going early again, he was their workhorse last week. Freddys Forecast Lake Braddock 20 Madison 7
Woodbridge @ Gainesville
Not sure what to make of Gainesville’s shutout loss last week to Mountain View. They cannot afford to sulk though; Woodbridge comes to town on a heater. The Vikings dropped 54 points in their win over Stafford and seem to have everything worked out on offense. You cannot say the same for the Cardinals yet but best believe Coach Cage will have them amped and ready to go well before kickoff. This game has all the dynamics to be an early season classic Freddys Forecast Woodbridge 31 Gainesville 24
North Stafford @ Osbourn
North Stafford had Battlefield beat 10 different ways last Thursday only to find themselves on the short end of the stick. This has not changed my expectations on the Wolverines, but heading back to Manassas to face an angry Osbourn squad will not be fun. Osbourn lost in a shootout to Colgan and will need to pick things up defensively to get back into the win column.
Freddys Forecast Osbourn 21 North Stafford 20
