Seif Koroma Named Patriot District Football Player of the Week After 3-TD Performance

This week, South County High School’s senior running back, Seif Koroma, has been named the Patriot District Player of the Week for his outstanding performance on the field. Seif's relentless energy and drive helped lead his team to a crucial victory, showcasing his ability to make game-changing plays when it mattered most.

Seif’s key stats for the week included scoring three touchdowns against West Springfield, a performance that underscored his impact on the game. Reflecting on his biggest highlight, Seif pointed to his first run of the game, where he gained 20 yards and secured a first down despite an earlier setback of 10 yards due to a penalty. "That first run really set the tone for me and got us moving forward," Seif shared.

Beyond his impressive stats, Seif contributed to his team’s success by maintaining high energy and focusing on hard work rather than the scoreboard. "I made sure to keep my energy high and not play to the scoreboard, just working hard every moment," he said. One key moment that stood out to Seif was the first touchdown scored by his team coming out of halftime. "I just knew there was no turning back after that," he remarked, highlighting the shift in momentum that propelled his team forward.

Seif’s motivation to perform at his best comes from his desire to leave everything on the field during his final season. "I want to go out with a big last season and have no regrets," he explained. He also draws inspiration from Marshawn Lynch, admiring how Lynch played with intensity and brought his personality into the game.

When it comes to handling pressure during important moments, Seif relies on staying focused and composed. "I take a deep breath and stay focused on what's right in front of me," he said, a strategy that has clearly paid off during high-stakes situations.

Looking ahead, Seif’s goals for the rest of the season are ambitious. He aims to improve with each game and earn All-District, All-Region, and All-State honors. His long-term goals include attending a four-year university and continuing to play football at the collegiate level.

Off the field, Seif enjoys spending time with friends and family, trying new foods, and listening to hype music before games to get in the zone. His pre-game ritual also includes praying on the field, which helps him center himself before kickoff.

To his teammates, Seif expressed his confidence and excitement: "We’re going to make big things happen for ourselves." And to his coaches, he offered gratitude: "I appreciate your support and for making sure I keep working hard."
