Did a little better than the previous week, but once again if you are a degenerate gambler, you should not follow my picks below….

Marshall (3-0) vs. Madison (3-0)

I’ll be at this game in Vienna tonight and I am excited to watch two squads coming in on fire. Marshall is averaging a ridiculous 61 points per game while Madison has the best defense in the state. Teams with contrasting style It will be interesting to see how the Statesmen handle the electric atmosphere especially early at Madison. If they can weather the storm, I expect this game to be a battle.

Fairfax (2-1) vs South County (2-1)

Both squads seem to be back on track with their offenses last week and all bets are off when it comes to this rivalry. The Stallions are still smarting from their early playoff exit at the hands of the Lions in 2023 and would love to hammer one of their toughest opponents. Fairfax is starting settle in offensively in particular running back Harry Maltese who is a mix of both power and speed for Coach Taylor’s squad.  Score Prediction South County 28 Fairfax 14

West Springfield (0-2) vs Oakton (2-1)

Break up the Cougars, winners of two straight and are poised for their first .500 or better season in nearly a decade. We talked about it previously on the highly regarded All Hitches podcast, but it must be mentioned Oakton’s future is very bright. Speaking of bright futures, West Springfield has plenty of it too and they have time to get back to their winning ways. A difficult start to the season for the Spartans should not elude them from another playoff run. It would be nice to start tonight with a win for Coach Parker’s squad ill go with West Springfield 31 Oakton 24

Battlefield (3-0) vs Woodbridge (1-2)

Critics tend to hammer the Bobcats for the easy schedule, but I can assure you this team is a legit state title contender. Their biggest test should come tonight when they make the trip to face a feisty young Woodbridge squad. The Vikings have had tough luck in heartbreaking losses to Gainesville and Colonial Forge, they will not go away quietly tonight.  Battlefield 35 Woodbridge 17
